International Symposium on Freeway and Tollway Operations

AustriaTech is hosting the 4th International Symposium on Freeway and Tollway Operations on June 26-30, 2023 in Vienna, Austria. TRB is pleased to cosponsor this event. This international symposium will provide a forum for system and facility managers, traffic engineers, practitioners, and researchers to share their experiences; and discuss and debate the future of managing traffic.

The symposium will facilitate discussions and sharing experiences with how technologies, innovative practices, and research provide opportunities for agencies to address current challenges and deliberate how they will manage traffic in the future. The topics for discussion will include the next generation of traffic management systems; sharing and using emerging sources of data to manage traffic; actively managing and controlling traffic; managed lane operational strategies; integrating pricing into traffic operational strategies; and incorporating mobility on demand services into the day-to-day traffic management activities. This symposium will include workshops and plenary sessions addressing key challenges and opportunities facing the industry; invited keynote speakers; panel sessions; and poster sessions of selected papers. In addition, meetings of the technical committees from co-sponsoring organizations will also occur.
