TRB Webinar: Waterborne Traffic Paint Application, Materials Selection, and Testing
TRB conducted a webinar on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET that discusses practices for applying pavement markings. While pavement markings are a safety measure with a long history and broad use, there is a wide variety of practices, resulting in significant differences in paint quality from location to location. This webinar presented a case study of one state department of transportation that improved year-round maintained retroreflectivity of their waterborne traffic paint by focusing on quality and education. The presenters also focused on materials testing for both paint and beads, and they demonstrated how materials testing and selection processes may improve marking visibility.
This webinar was organized by the TRB StandingTechnical Committee on Signing and Marking Materials.
