ACRP Champion Program

The ACRP Champion program helps early- to mid-career professionals grow and excel within the airport industry. Airport industry executives sponsor promising young professionals to become in-house experts on ACRP. Champions complete missions that help develop new skills and knowledge, broaden professional networks, and foster long-term engagement in the aviation research community.

Why Become an ACRP Champion?

Get Started!

Note: Enrollment requires registering for a MyACRP account.

There are many reasons to become an ACRP Champion! A few of the benefits include:

  • Develop valuable expertise. Become familiar with ACRP research and resources that will benefit your work and your organization.
  • Grow your network. Interact and collaborate with fellow ACRP Champions, ACRP Ambassadors, and other professionals in the airport industry.
  • Facilitate and initiate research. Learn how to submit research ideas to drive research on topics impacting your organization.
  • Be part of an elite group. Earn a prestigious credential in a highly competitive industry through an affiliation with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and the Transportation Research Board.

Explore the Champion Missions and learn which organizations are participating.

Why Sponsor an ACRP Champion?

Employers benefit from having an ACRP Champion on board. Benefits include:

  • Coordinated organizational engagement. Your ACRP Champion will become an in-house expert on ACRP. Champions help colleagues get involved in research and stay abreast of ACRP news, opportunities, and important dates.
  • Access to best practices. Champions identify and disseminate ACRP research on topics relevant to your organization.
  • Rewarding talent. Sponsoring a Champion demonstrates your commitment to helping young professionals grow professionally.

Eligibility

Any airport organization or firm that provides services to airports may enroll an ACRP Champion. Educational institutions that offer airport management programs may also enroll an ACRP Champion. In most instances, only one Champion (and sponsor) per organization is permitted.

  • To become an ACRP Champion - High-performing professionals beginning their career in the airport industry are eligible to participate, but they must be sponsored (i.e., approved) by a CEO, vice president, senior manager, or practice leader at their airport, consultancy, or other organization.
  • To sponsor an ACRP Champion – Champions must have support from their organization's leadership to participate. Sponsors may be the organization's CEO, vice president, senior manager, or a practice leader.

Get Started

To get started, follow these simple steps:

  1. Review the list of Participating Organizations. Only one Champion (and sponsor) per organization is permitted. If your organization is not listed, proceed to step 2.
  2. Complete a brief enrollment form. Note: Enrollment requires registering for a MyACRP account. The prospective Champion or his or her sponsor may complete the form.
  3. Once ACRP receives and processes the sponsor's approval, ACRP will send the Champion a "Welcome Aboard" email and instructions for accessing the online Champion portal and beginning the first mission.
