TRB Webinar: Expediting Future Technologies for Enhancing Transportation System Performance

TRB conducted a webinar on December 16, 2013 from 1:00 p.m.- 2:30 p.m. ET that explored a methodology that can be used to facilitate collaboration among agencies, reduce duplication of efforts, and speed adoption of useful transportation-related technologies in the industry. A certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDH) was provided to attendees who registered and attended the webinar as an individual. Contact Reggie Gillum at RGillum@nas.edu for instructions on receiving a copy of the recorded webinar.

Webinar presenters described how state departments of transportation and metropolitan planning organizations could use a methodology to compare new technologies to alternatives based on their likely effect on agency goals and on possible barriers to implementation. A demonstration of the methodology took place during the webinar.

Webinar Presenters:
  • Steven Popper, RAND
  • Ted Trepanier, Inrix
  • Mark Muriello, Port Authority of New York & New Jersey
Moderated by: Jim Wright, AASHTO

  • Explanation of the Process
  • Possible Applications
The first 60 minutes of the webinar was for presentations and the final 30 minutes was reserved for audience questions.
