Pyke Johnson Award

In 1971 the Executive Committee established the Pyke Johnson Award, which may be given annually for the outstanding paper published in the field of transportation systems planning and administration. It honors the 23rd chairman of the Highway Research Board, who was highly influential and active in the affairs of the Board from its inception; he attended the organizational meeting in November 1920. The names of the award recipients and the titles of their papers follow.
