New NAE Members and Foreign Associates Elected

The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) of the National Academies has elected 74 new members and 10 foreign associates. The newly elected members include Ken E. Arnold, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, Paragon Engineering Services, Houston (for contributions to the safety, design, and standardization of hydrocarbon production), and R. Shankar Nair, Senior Vice President, Teng & Associates, Chicago, Illinois (for contributions to the art and science of engineering through the design of innovative bridges and building structures). The NAE, founded in 1964, provides engineering leadership in service to the nation. The NAE has more than 2,000 peer-elected members and foreign associates, who are among the world's most accomplished engineers.
