Quality, Comparability, and Review of Emissions Inventories Vary Between Developed and Developing Nations
The U.S. Government Accountability Office has released a report that explores the greenhouse gas emission inventories from various economically and less economically developed nations in order to help determine what is known about the comparability and quality of inventories and barriers, if any, to improvement. The report also examines what is known about the strengths and limits of the inventory review process conducted under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In addition, the report highlights the views of experts on implications for current and future international agreements to reduce emissions.
