Active TRB Volunteer Paul Jablonski passes away

The transit community and TRB are deeply saddened by the passing of Paul Jablonski. The CEO of the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System was also serving as the Chair of TRB's Transit Cooperative Research Program Oversight and Project Selection Commission (TOPS).

"Paul has been a terrific friend to TRB. He honored us by serving as chair of TOPS and carried out that role with dedication and grace. He was always a great supporter of and advocate for the TCRP program," noted TCRP's Gwen Chisholm Smith in an email to TRB staff. "Paul was an excellent leader who was always helping us look forward to the next achievement. Paul often encouraged us – and challenged us —to break new ground and become more effective and responsive to our mission and our stakeholders."
