Paying for Transportation Use More Fairly

Many states are exploring road usage charge (RUC) programs as they seek sustainable alternatives to the fuel tax.

Road Usage Charge Guide (NCHRP WebResource 2), from TRB's National Cooperative Highway Research Program, was published online this past week. It offers a collection of RUC resources, best practices, and sample communication materials for anyone who wants to study RUC or move RUC forward in their state.

In addition, save the date to join the conversation on integrating managed lanes into transportation systems at TRB's Symposium on Managed Lanes on August 12-14 in Irvine, CA.
