ACRP Paints a Picture of Airport Arts Programs
Arts program structures vary from airport to airport, but even so, similarities exist across these programs. A survey as part of ACRP Synthesis 135: Methods of Airport Arts Program Management, released this week from TRB's Airport Cooperative Research Program, found all survey respondents agreed or strongly agreed that their airport arts programs contribute to a positive customer experience. Among the same 51 respondents, all but one airport agreed or strongly agreed that their airport arts programs create a sense of place and are important to their airports. More than 90% of respondents felt that an airport arts program creates a sense of home for local travelers, creates a relationship between the airport and the local community and stakeholders, and has a social impact.
TRB and the National Academies have a wealth of resources to help airports improve visits from their customers.
