Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety: Summary of the 10th University Transportation Centers Spotlight Conference

TRB's Conference Proceedings on the Web 21: Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety: Summary of the 10th University Transportation Centers Spotlight Conference explores a conference held on December 1-2, 2016 in Washington, D.C. The conference highlighted research addressing issues associated with pedestrian and bicyclist safety. The conference included plenary sessions focused on the role of policy and guidance, emerging and future technologies, behavior change, and equity.

This meeting was the 10th in a series of Spotlight Conferences funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology, University Transportation Centers (UTC) Program. The UTC Program awards grants to universities across the country to advance state-of-the-art transportation research, to conduct technology transfer activities, and to educate the next generation of transportation professionals.
