TRB’s SHRP 2 Tuesdays Webinar: Traveler Information and Travel Reliability (L14)

TRB’s SHRP 2 Tuesdays Webinar: Traveler Information and Travel Reliability (L14)

As part of the SHRP2 Tuesdays Webinar Series, TRB conducted a webinar on August 26, 2014 regarding foundation research on how to communicate information about travel time reliability to motorists so they can make informed decisions. Contact Reggie Gillum at RGillum@nas.edu for instructions on receiving a copy of the recorded webinar.

The objective of SHRP 2 Reliability Project L14 is to foster better public awareness and understanding of the variability of travel time allowing road users to learn to work around nonrecurring delays due to incidents, bad weather, work zones, special events, and malfunctioning traffic control devices. This project has produced two reports that have pertinent findings and lay the groundwork for future research on traveler information concerning travel time reliability: A Lexicon for Conveying Travel Time Reliability Information, and Effectiveness of Different Approaches to Disseminating Traveler Information on Travel Time Reliability.
