Breakout 1: Building from Zero: Social Media Goals When You‘re Starting from Scratch
Getting started on a social media path with limited or few resources is a common situation many social media people – professionals and novices alike – have found themselves in. Join this session to discuss what’s worked for your organization if you’ve been in this position, what organizations can and can’t expect out of their social media programs, and the pros and cons of prioritizing different social media platforms.
Aimee Custis, Transportation Learning Center
Breakout 2: How to Use a Public Social Network for a Professional Agenda
Video | PPT | Notes
Think social media is just for fun or just for kids? Think again.  There are many ways to use social media to enhance your professional skill and knowledge sets, make valuable connections with transportation professionals across the nation, and advance your professional organization's reach and effectiveness.
Shana Johnson, Foursquare Integrated Transportation Planning
  Breakout 3: Engagement
Video | PPT
Does social media really lead to better public engagement?  Attend this session to discuss how strategic, targeted social media use can lead to enhanced relationships between agencies, community groups and other stakeholders – often leading to better decisions, advocacy and understanding around transportation issues, investment decisions and services.
Stephanie Brooks, Baker Engineering
  Breakout 4: Measuring Effectiveness
With a social media presence in place it’s time to evaluate what can be done to effectively measure its success rate. Attend this group to discuss or learn how others are defining measurable goals, identifying performance metrics, setting up measurement tools, and deciding when and how often to measure.
Mia Zmud, NuStats
