ACRP Webinars

Webinars

The Transportation Research Board's (TRB’s) ACRP webinars feature the dissemination of results of ACRP research projects and topics of interest to airport practitioners. Please join senior airport researchers as they present cutting-edge solutions to issues facing airports.

ACRP webinars are offered FREE of charge with Continuing Education Units offered by TRB and provided by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). Additional information can be found on the registration pages provided below.

Incorporating Technology into Airport Concessions

February 9, 2026 1:00-2:00 PM ET

Register Now.

This webinar will be of interest to a wide array of industry practitioners desiring to use technology to enhance airport terminal concessions programs. Airport operators are seeing greater use of technology in their terminal concessions programs. This increased use reflects concessionaires using technology to improve efficiency, a growing customer preference for e-commerce, and airports leveraging their own technologies to better manage their commercial operations. This webinar will provide airport practitioners with a practical understanding of evaluating, selecting, and implementing technology to enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and revenue generation in airport terminal concessions programs. This webinar is based on ACRP Web-Only Document 66: Incorporating Technologies into Airport In-Terminal Concessions Programs: A Primer and ACRP Research Report 279: Framework and Tools for Incorporating Technologies into Airport In-Terminal Concessions Programs.

Safe Maintenance of Airfield Electrical Systems for Small Airports

Nonqualified or improperly trained airport staff may not be able to recognize airfield electrical systems hazards that may lead to serious injury or loss of life. The purpose of this webinar is to provide guidance and best practices for safely maintaining airfield electrical systems that are accessible and practical for small-hub, non-hub, reliever, and GA airports. This webinar is based on WebResource 20: Safe Maintenance of Airfield Electrical Systems for Small Airports. Speakers will introduce attendees to useful tools and resources; describe means and methods for recognizing hazards and mitigating risks; and provide curriculum outlines and job aids to support system maintenance.

Legal Impacts to Airports from State Legalization of Cannabis

The difference between the federal government classification and state’s legalization of cannabis requires a balance for airports located in states where cannabis has been legalized. This webinar is based on Legal Research Digest 49: Legal Impacts to Airports from State Legalization of Cannabis and will be helpful for airports to understand the impacts of state’s legalization of cannabis on their environment, including employment. Airports, while physically located within individual states, operate as instruments of commerce subject to federal jurisdiction as part of the national transportation system. This duality, requiring airports to navigate multiple layers of laws and regulations, is particularly significant in the context of cannabis, where some states have legalized the substance for certain uses while federal law continues to prohibit it. This webinar will provide insight into the legal impacts to airports from ongoing efforts by certain states to legalize cannabis by identifying key issues and corresponding legal guidance, where available.
