Supporting Materials for ACRP Web-Only Document 36: Enhanced AEDT Modeling of Aircraft Arrival and Departure Profiles, Volume 2: Research Report

ACRP Web-Only Document 36 Departure Model

Background

ACRP Web-Only Document 36 and accompanying materials are the result of ACRP Project 02-55 whose objectives were to develop: (1) standard model aircraft approach and departure profiles that are not currently in FAA’s Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT), (2) methods to model customized aircraft approach and departure profiles using AEDT, and (3) technical guidance for selecting appropriate approach and departure AEDT profiles, including customized profiles, for specific user situations.

Final Report and Appendices

The contractor’s final report and accompanying appendices are available at the links below:

Download the data used to create the plots in Appendix B for arrivals.

Download the data used to create the plots in Appendix C for departures.

Volume 1: Guidance Document provides users of AEDT – from novices to experienced users – with an easy-to-access guide on the varying approaches to profile modeling, including when and how to use ACRP Project 02-55 tools and data to support airport environmental studies.

Note that these profiles do not include the thrust de-rate parameter. At the time of publication, the thrust de-rate parameter is not supported in AEDT.

Note that this file contains sub-folders containing scripts for profiles with and without the thrust de-rate parameter. At the time of publication, the thrust de-rate parameter is not supported in AEDT. The script for profiles with de-rate is provided here only as a resource.
